Service Details
ISKCON New Vrindaban is inviting applications for the service of Temple President. This service opportunity involves helping guide and support the spiritual, administrative, and community development of one of ISKCON North America’s most historic and spiritually significant pilgrimage communities.
The Temple President will help support Śrīla Prabhupāda’s vision for New Vrindaban through spiritual leadership, community care, organizational oversight, outreach, and the continued development of simple living and Krishna-centered community life. The role includes responsibility for maintaining strong spiritual standards, supporting devotees and guests, overseeing day-to-day operations and finances, and helping guide the continued growth and direction of the community in cooperation with ISKCON leadership.
• All activities pertaining to the Deity worship, including worship schedules, aratis, and daily
puja consisting of Deity bathing, dressing, and cooking for the Deities;
• Inspire the members of the community and personally follow the instructions of Srila
Prabhupada by promoting his vision for New Vrindaban through steady development of
Simple Living, Holy Pilgrimage, Community Outreach, Spiritual Education, and, above all,
Loving Krishna.
• Set a good spiritual example and see to the spiritual care of temple staff, and community
members.
• Selection of major spiritual holy Vaishnava days of observance.
• Selection of all spiritual teachings and lectures conducted at the Corporation’s facilities and
or at any temple-sponsored or temple-organized event.
• Organization of Sankirtan (congregational chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord),
preaching, and the distribution of ISKCON’s spiritual literature.
• Additionally, the President shall supervise the day-to-day management affairs of the
Corporation and the activities of the officers. He or she shall perform all duties incident to
his or her office and such other duties as may be required by law, by the Articles of
Incorporation of this Corporation, or by ISKCON New Vrindaban Bylaws.
• Except as otherwise expressly provided by law, by the Articles of Incorporation, or by
ISKCON New Vrindaban Bylaws, he or she shall, in the name of the Corporation, execute
deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, checks or other instruments that may from time to time
be authorized by the Board of Directors.
• Oversite of temple finances.
• Should have a mature understanding of the teachings of ISKCON Founder-Acarya, A.C.
Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness.
• Must have experience serving as a Temple President, Vice President, or in a comparable
leadership role within ISKCON.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organizational and administrative abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building and the ability to motivate and
guide team members.
• Solid understanding of finance, management, and budgeting by having a degree in these
areas or equivalent service experience.
