The Structure of the NA RGB
The North American Regional Governing Body (NA RGB) functions with a well-defined structure to ensure effective leadership and representation. Its composition reflects a balance between experience and diverse perspectives. The governing body consists of GBC members residing within North America, along with spiritual leaders and devotees elected by regional constituencies. This combination fosters a deep understanding of ISKCON’s core values and the specific needs of North American communities. The NA RGB also benefits from the expertise of appointed committees that address specific areas like preaching, education, and temple development. This collaborative approach ensures that the NA RGB’s decisions are informed, comprehensive, and serve the best interests of ISKCON in North America.
The Executive Committee (EC) of the NA RGB is made of three members:
- A Chairman
- 1st Vice-Chairman
- 2nd Vice-Chairman
+ a non-voting secretary
Their role includes:
- Regular Meetings: convening regular meetings to discuss relevant current events and address questions
- Initiative and Issue Resolution: taking the initiative on behalf of the NA RGB to resolve ongoing issues within a reasonable framework that does not necessitate the presence of the entire body
- Reporting: reporting to the NA RGB on significant developments in current events
- Exceptional Meetings: calling for exceptional meetings of the entire body when necessary
- Agenda Preparation and Chairing: preparing the agenda for the two yearly meetings of the NA RGB and chairing these meetings
